Il disco inizia con un pezzo che sembra uscito da uno dei primi albums degli Echo & the Bunnymen. Spruzzatine qua e là di Church (le chitarrine svolazzanti), Blue Nile (il timbro vocale in alcuni pezzi), le consuete influenze Joy Division, Cure e Smiths. Però per il debutto degli Editors vale un po’ il discorso fatto con l’esordio dei Maximo Park. Nulla di nuovo ma i pezzi ci sono.

sì, sono d’accordo. i pezzi ci sono, e non è poco. certo, sembra quasi troppo facile, apprezzare questi gruppi – nuovo il gruppo, ma non propone una cosa nuova.
sarà la cronica mancanza del tempo che servirebbe per setacciare le novità, ma come band recente sonoramente inquietante – ribadisco – sono rimasta agli xiu xiu. (eccomi disponibile a indicazioni per ascolti di suoni nuovi – da scoprire, ecco.)
sono d’accordo sulla mancanza di tempo, ai tempi delle ‘scuole’ i pomeriggi erano almeno per m dedicati alla musica, però c’è da considerare che oggi forse c’è troppa musica e troppo facilmente si fa musica (e un disco)…forse bisognerebbe anche rallentare ed acccontentarsi mentre (mi) pare che specialmente sui blogghi ci sia sempre la corsa a sapere di più e prima…
la mia ultima scoperta-passione sono i mahjongg (un gruppo non un gioco)
