mi è sempre piaciuto molto di più di «natura morta»: mi pare renda meglio il rapporto tra questo tipo di pittura e la natura che spesso prende come oggetto. ma a farmi appassionare al genere sono stati floreros e bodegones del seicento spagnolo, dove la terminologia suggerisce già una particolare densità, un rapporto più intenso con la realtà. in particolare zurbarán, in particolare questo quadro della national gallery di londra (che definisce il genere così) e il premetafisico – nulla di «naturale», qui – bodegon de cacharros del prado (ma pare ce ne sia un altro identico a barcellona).

Già. Nella mia enorme ignoranza io ho imparato a conoscere Zurbarán proprio al Norton Simon Museum. Comunque io aspetto una mostra che copra i tre e passa secoli di nature morte fino a Morandi.
decisamente meno scontato che avere la rivelazione a madrid! morandi invece mi apparve, credo, per la prima volta nella calma piatta della fondazione magnani rocca presso parma.
a bilbao credo ci sia stata una mostra sulla natura morta che arrivava fino a picasso, ma ispanocentrica (qui in anni recenti ne ricordo solo una sulla natura morta lombarda, ma posso sbagliare).
